PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position measuring method for precisely arranging components three-dimensionally. SOLUTION: In the position measuring method, installation reference elements 20 are correctly arranged on a breadbord by using straight edges 30 and 31 and fixed devices 32. The joints 21 of the bottoms of the installation reference elements 20 are made of an elastically deformable material so as not to be affected by the projections and recesses of the breadboad. By mounting position measuring devices on the reference position elements 20, optical components can be precisely arranged. Using a widely-used inexpensive measuring device such as a micro-meter or vernier caliper, a positioning accuracy of 10μm can be achieved. This is 30 times as accurate as 300μm recesses and projections of the surface of an optical surface plate. Adjusting time is shortened by that amount. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
