PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure for fixing armrests of a chair, in which tightening pieces attached to the top surface of a seat plate is minimized in size and material cost is saved and the seat body is lightened, the tightening pieces are positioned from front to back and from side to side and the armrests can be easily fixed to the tightening pieces. SOLUTION: Reinforcing ribs 14 shaped in lattice in a plan view which includes a plurality of horizontal ribs 14a which are directed horizontally and a plurality of vertical ribs 14b which are directed crossways are raised on the top surface of a seat plate 9, container parts 18 defined by adjacent horizontal ribs 14a and the inner vertical ribs 14b are formed on both right/left sides of the reinforcing rib 14, a tightening piece 24 having a nut 25 is stored in the container part 18 so that it cannot move back and forth or inward, a mounting part of an armrest 11 and a bolt inserted into the seat plate 9 from below are threadedly engaged to the nut 25 of the tightening piece, so that the armrest 11 is fixed to the lower surface of both sides of the seat plate 9.
