PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a commercial method for production by which an L-arabinose-containing composition useful in aspects of physiological functions can inexpensively be mass-produced from corn fibers produced as a by-product in a production process of wet milling of the corn. SOLUTION: The method for producing the L-arabinose-containing composition is carried out as follows: the wet milling of the corn is produced. In the process, a fine fiber section obtained by removing coarse granular corn fibers with a prescribed coarse mesh sieve in the corn fibers produced as the by-product in a separation step of corn fibers/milky liquid with a prescribed fine mesh sieve is used as a raw material. Furthermore, the raw material is hydrolyzed with an acid or an enzyme and purified to produce the composition. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
