A memex search system and a search method thereof are provided to offer useful information to a user in preference to other search items by generating/storing a search result list in a memex search server based on a search result report, and preferentially displaying previously used search result items in a search result page in reference to the search result list when the user searches again the same search term. A memex search agent is installed in a user terminal(10-14), and generates/transmits a search result report including a user ID field, a search term field, and a selected item URL(Uniform Resource Locator) field for identifying a URL of a search result item when a user selects the search result item by querying a search term to a search site. A memex search server(100) generates and stores a search result list for each user by collecting the search result report from the memex search agents through the network. A memex search site(200) provides the user with a memex search result page including the search result item corresponding to the search term and a previous selection item, which includes a link moved to the URL of more than one previously selected search result item for the search term when the search term received from the user is included in the search result list.
