METHOD FOR UPDATING TERMINAL PROGRAM OF SETTLEMENT SYSTEM AND SETTLEMENT TERMINAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the communication cost by eliminating useless data communication between a settlement terminal and a host server.

SOLUTION: When a program is updated, the host server 9 notifies a referral server 7 of the update in the program. The settlement terminal 2 confirms whether or not the program stored in the settlement terminal 2 has been updated, by referring to the referral server 7 for settlement. When it is confirmed that the program has been updated, the host server 9 is requested to download the program.
