PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To insert an inlaid part of an upper mold into a cavity of a lower mold and removing water/gas from ventilation members to obtain a paper molded article excellent in strength and water resistance. SOLUTION: The forming mold includes an upper mold (4) having an upper ventilation member (10), an upper ventilation hole (7) and an inlaid part (4A); and a lower mold (3) having a cavity (5), a lower ventilation member (12) and a lower ventilation hole (7A). A method for molding a paper molded article includes inserting the inner low portion (4A) into the cavity (5), and removing a gas/water with the ventilation members (10, 12) and ventilation holes (7, 7A) to form the paper molded article (20A).
