PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an underwater heater which can readily confirm the energized states of heat-generating wires, without causing complications in the inner structure and can confirm the energized states of the heat-generating wires, without being affected by the attitude of installation of the underwater heater. SOLUTION: This underwater heater is provided with a cylindrical heater tube 10 whose both ends in the longitudinal direction are closed, and heat-generating wires received in the inside of the heater tube 10, and has a temperature-indicating coating layer 26 formed on at least one portion of the heater tube 10.
