When laundry (1) is dried in a drum by means of an air current guided through the drum, the air current is guided through a filter (8) which catches the fluffing (9) carried therewith. A scraper (17) carrying out a movement for scraping fluffing (9) caught in the filter and a collecting region comprising an opening for receiving the scraped fluffing (9) are associated with said filter. The scraper (17) is monitored during the movement thereof to ensure that it reaches a certain pre-determined position.
