SOLAR CELL AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE USING THE SAME

A solar cell and an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) using the same are provided to produce power from the light leaked from a lamp as a light source of a backlight assembly by using the solar cell. A reflection plate(117) reflects the light beam leaked from plural lamps(111). A solar cell(120) is seated on the upper surface of the reflection plate and changes the light beam reflected from the reflection plate into electricity. A support side fixes both ends of the plural lamps. A diffusion plate and plural optical sheets(115) are constructed to the upper portion of the lamp. An LCD panel(110) is constructed to the upper portion of the optical sheet. The solar cell is made of the amorphous silicon thin film. A lamp driving member drives the lamps and the solar cell applies the power to the lamps through the lamp driving member.
