<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote control signal converter by which a malfunction of a remote control operation generated by the congestion of a plurality of infrared signals is prevented. <P>SOLUTION: In the remote control signal converter 50A, a light emitting element 23 is attached at a position facing a light receiving element 11 of a television set 10 for control by an adhesion object 54. The incidence of an infrared signal Sii from a remote controller 40 and an infrared signal Sin from a remote controller and a personal computer, etc. indoors on the light receiving element 11 of the television set 10 is shielded by infrared nontransparent objects 53 arranged so as to surround the light emitting element 23.
