PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire which has a belt having improved durability improved by optimizing the arrangement of the cord composing the belt, and has a non-directive lug groove pattern. SOLUTION: The pneumatic tire 1 comprises a carcass 2 elongating in a toroidal shape, the belt 4 composed of at least two belt layers 3a, 3b which are located on radially outside of the tire than the carcass 2, and are formed by coating the cord with rubber, and a tread portion 5 located on radially outside of the tire than the belt 4. The belt layers 3a, 3b form crossing belt layers. The tread portion 5 is provided with a plurality of pairs of one end opened grooves 7a, 7b arranged in the circumferential direction of the tire, which one end opened grooves 7a, 7b elongate from both tread edges 6a, 6b toward the equatorial plane E of the tire in the same tilting direction and terminate in the land portion. The cord 8 composing the outermost belt layer 3a and the center line G of the width of the one end opened grooves 7a, 7b elongate in the same tilting direction, and the angleαmade by the cord 8 and the center line G of the width of the groove is within the range from 30°to 70°.
