PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the time to configure an optimum system irrespective of the number of disk devices. SOLUTION: A disk enclosure 60 issues a SCSI command 1 to HDDs 70a1 to 70an and acquires and stores detailed disk information 2 about the HDDs 70a1 to 70an. A disk control device 20 issues a SCSI command 3 requesting all the detailed disk information 2 about the HDDs 70a1 to 70an, when connected to the disk enclosure 60 via a dedicated SCSI cable 4.
