A liquid discharge head and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to facilitate liquid discharge on a substrate by forming a tapered discharge port with high accuracy or forming both tapered discharge port and straight discharge port. A method for manufacturing a liquid discharge head, which includes an energy generating device(2) and a discharge part installed on the opposite side of the energy generating device and comprising a discharge port(5) for discharging liquid, comprises the steps of: forming a negative photosensitive resin layer, as a member for forming the discharge port on a substrate(1), wherein the layer has a light absorptivity of 0.02 to 0.07 per a thickness of 1mum when exposed to 365nm of light wavelength; and exposing the layer using i-rays to form the discharge port tapered toward the discharge port from the substrate. |
