PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for reducing wear between a lubricating surface and a moving part, and to provide a lubricant concentrate containing a lubricant and a wear-reducing agent. SOLUTION: The lubricating surface comprises a base oil having lubricating viscosity, with an amount of at least one hydrocarbon soluble magnesium compound effectively providing greater surface ware reduction than that obtained from a lubricant composition free of the magnesium compound.
