PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector and an electronic control unit which can be downsized. SOLUTION: For the connector 50 with a plurality of terminals 51 arrayed in directions along and vertical to a plane of a printed board 31 against the housing 52, leg lengths of the terminals 51 are made the shorter the nearer they are to the printed board 31 in accordance with step positions in a vertical direction of the plane of the printed board 31 in the housing 52, and as to a thickness of a side face part of the housing 52 holding the terminals, those in a region from a terminal holding site 58 holding the terminal 51 at the lowermost step to the lower end opposed to the printed board 31 are made thinner than that at a terminal holding part 57 holding the topmost-step terminal 51, and further, a face at a side connected to lands of the region from the terminal holding site 58 to the lower end is to be nearer to an end part connected to an outside connector of the terminals than that at a side connected to a land of the terminal holding site 57.
