<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of restraining color shift in the direction of sub-scanning of a color image by accurately correcting parallelism between latent image carriers, and to provide a latent image carrier position adjustment method. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus, the positions of rotating shafts 60 in the moving direction of the surface of an intermediate transfer belt, along the surface of the intermediate transfer belt 16, are directly adjusted so that even if parallelism between the photoreceptors deviates, the parallelism is made appropriate by corresponding displacement means 55 based on the detection result of the optical sensor unit 29. Thereby, the parallelism can be accurately corrected. This manner makes it possible to restrain color shift, which results from the deviation of the parallelism between the photoreceptors, in the direction of sub-scanning during color image formation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
