<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water purification method which enables the removal of nitrate nitrogen and phosphate phosphorus from water to be treated to neutralize the treated water. <P>SOLUTION: The water purification method comprises a process of making the water to be treated containing nitrate nitrogen and phosphate phosphorus pass through sulfur or a sulfur compound carrying autotrophic denitrifying bacteria (sulfur-oxidizing bacteria) to remove the nitrate nitrogen by the denitrification action of the sulfur-oxidizing bacteria, and discharging the treated water, a process of making the water to be treated pass through steel slag in parallel with the nitrate nitrogen-removing process to remove the phosphate phosphorus by the adsorption action of the steel slag, and discharging the treated water, and a process of mixing and discharging the treated waters after the above processes. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
