<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting diode in which the breakage of wires is hard to occur because of thermal impacts and having extremely high reliability. <P>SOLUTION: A light emitting diode 10 is provided with: a first lead frame 12 and a second lead frame 14 with the end parts oppositely arranged; a light emitting element 16 that is fixed to a mount stage 30 that is formed at the tip portion of the first lead frame 12; a wire 18 for connecting a bonding stage 40 that is formed at the tip portion of the second lead frame 14 with the light emitting element 16; and a sealing resin 22 for sealing the light emitting element 16, the mount stage 30, the bonding stage 40, and the wire 18. In the light emitting diode 10, the mount stage 30 and the bonding stage 40 have a planar shape, and the tip corner parts of at least either one of the stages are characterized by forming curved parts 32 and 42 that are arcuately curved in a planar view. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
