<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device capable of evading various problems caused by retention of a developer and advantageous in cost performance. <P>SOLUTION: In the developing device comprising an upper case 75Y and a lower case 76Y forming a developer storing room 54 which has a rectangular shape on a plan and developer carrying screws 55Ya, 55Yb arranged in the developer storing room 54 along the length direction and rotatably supported on the lower case 76Y by bearings 65, a developer conveyance acceleration member 66 with slopes for easing a bent angle of a developer conveyance flow is arranged on the developer storing room corner part side of the bearing 65 on the inside end face of the developer storing room 54.
