<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a face feature point detection device that detects even a face feature point with fewer image features, such as a nose tip. <P>SOLUTION: The face feature point detection device comprises: an image input part 12 for inputting a face image; a search area and scale decision part 14 for deciding a search area and a scale; an image feature point detection part 16 for detecting image feature points selected from local image information about each point; a first dictionary 18 storing image feature point periphery patterns in association with relative position coordinates of image and target feature points; a first pattern matching part 20 for matching image feature point periphery patterns against the first dictionary 18; a target feature point position estimation part 22 for estimating position candidates for a target feature point; a second dictionary 24; a second pattern matching part 26 for matching target feature point periphery patterns against the second dictionary 24; and a determination part 28 for determining the position of the target feature point. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
