<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new linear light source unit that can be used in place of a cold cathode tube. <P>SOLUTION: The linear light source unit is provided with a main body part 130 made of a transparent body in a column shape with an almost uniform cross section and having a predetermined length, a light guide member 120 provided with a first end part 140a and a second end part 140b formed at the both ends of the main body part 130, substrates 210 arranged near the first and second end parts 140a and 140b, respectively, LED elements 200 mounted on the respective substrates 210 and arranged at the first and second end parts 140a and 140b, respectively, while being opposed to each other, and a radiation member 300 supported at the both end parts of the respective substrates 210 to extend along the light guide member 120. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
