PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner and an air conditioning capability evaluation method, suitably evaluating aged deterioration of air conditioning equipment and failure of devices. SOLUTION: This air conditioner includes: an air conditioner consumption energy measuring means 32 for measuring the consumption energy of an air conditioner 12; heat source device consumption energy measuring means 62, 72, 82 for measuring the consumption energy of heat source devices 16, 18; an air quantity measuring means 48 for measuring the air quantity of conditioning air blown from the air conditioner 12; flow rate measuring means 56, 92 for measuring the flow rate of a fluid circulating through the heat source devices 16, 18; and an arithmetic unit 20 for computing the consumption energy based upon the measurement results of the air quantity measuring means 48 and the flow rate measuring means 56, 92, wherein a change with the passage of time of air conditioning capability is detected based on the measurement results of the air conditioner consumption energy measuring means 32 and the heat source device consumption energy measuring means 62, 72, 82 and the arithmetic result of the arithmetic unit 20.
