PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation apparatus which enables a driver of own vehicle, to understand the passing direction on a road that is currently run. SOLUTION: Display like a display example represented by Figure 4 (a) is performed. Namely, when own vehicle 105 travels from an intersection 101 toward another intersection 103, display to the effect that house numbers from 1,800 to 1,700 for the current traveling direction is changed, concerning a road between the intersection 101 and the intersection 103. Since the driver can learn the tendencies of house number increase or house number decrease, as house numbers are displayed in this way, destination place can be readily specified by using the house numbers as a clue, as compared with the case where the house numbers are not displayed.
