摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin and lightweight planar lighting system capable of emitting illumination light without luminance irregularity or reduced in luminance irregularity, and allowing increase of its size. <P>SOLUTION: The above problem is solved by forming this planar lighting system into a structure including: a light guide plate having a flat light emitting surface emitting planar light, a light entering surface formed at an edge of the light emitting surface for entering light advancing in a direction parallel to the light emitting surface, and a back surface formed on a surface on the side opposite to the light emitting surface, and having a shape increasing the thickness in a direction vertical to the light emitting surface as it separates from the light entering surface; a light source arranged oppositely to the light entering surface for entering light into the light entering surface; and a reflecting member of a flat shape arranged on the back surface side of the light guide plate, and reflecting the light emitted from the back surface; and a support member arranged between the light guide plate and the reflecting member, and supporting the light guide plate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
