<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control system of a duplex feeding synchronous machine for effectively preventing voltage instability of a power system after an accident of the power system is removed and an abnormal voltage rise of the duplex feeding synchronous machine at the time of remote load interception. <P>SOLUTION: The system includes reactive power control means 7, 9, 11 and 12 to 13 controlling reactive power of the duplex feeding synchronous machine 2 to a preset reactive power target value, stator voltage control means 7, 9, 11 and 32 to 34 controlling stator voltage of the duplex feeding synchronous machine 2 to a preset voltage target value, accident means 43 and 52 detecting occurrence of an accident of the power system and a switching means 62 which changes over reactive power control by the reactive power control means 7, 9, 11 and 12 to 13 to voltage control by the stator voltage control means 7, 9, 11 and 32 to 34 in accordance with accident detection in the power system by the accident means 43 and 52.
