摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a liquid crystal display device of a VA mode excellent in display quality. <P>SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of the liquid crystal display device of a VA mode, in which respective pixel regions arranged in a matrix shape having rows and columns have four liquid crystal domains of tilt directions different from one another, includes: a step of forming a first region having a first pretilt direction and a second region having a second pretilt direction anti-parallel to the first pretilt direction by light irradiation on an alignment film in a pixel region of a first substrate on which a pixel electrode is formed such that the boundary between the first region and the second region becomes parallel to the direction of columns; and a step of forming a third region having a third pretilt direction and a fourth region having a fourth pretilt direction anti-parallel to the third pretilt direction by light irradiation on an alignment film in a pixel region of a second substrate such that the boundary between the third region and the fourth region becomes parallel to the direction of rows. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
