PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restore a transmission to an automatic shift mode by making driver's intention reflect sufficiently. SOLUTION: A transmission controller of a vehicle is provided with an automatic transmission 32 capable of switching manual shift mode and automatic shift mode, a lateral gravitational acceleration sensor 20 which is installed on the vehicle and estimates whether a running path is a straight path or a curved path and an ECU 30 which switches from the manual shift mode to the automatic shift mode based on detected result of the lateral G sensor 20. It is further configured so as to control timing restoring to the automatic shift mode by means of detecting view line information of the driver by a view line recognition unit 26 and adding curved path information of the proceeding direction.
