PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adaptive saturation adjusting device that has noise-reducing function, and to provide a method therefor. SOLUTION: An adaptive saturation adjusting device includes a luminance value extracting unit for extracting the luminance values of input image, and a saturation color adjusting unit for adjusting the color saturation components of the input image, on the basis of the luminance values extracted.
