PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a structure capable of reducing manufacturing costs for a refueling machine for a nuclear reactor including a fuel grip part comprising an expansion pipe and a gripper. SOLUTION: The refueling machine includes a travel carriage, a cross-travel carriage, and the fuel grip part attached to the cross-travel carriage, wherein the fuel grip part is positioned at a required position by the travel of the travel carriage and the cross-travel carriage. The fuel grip part 4 includes the expansion pipe 11 formed so as to be freely expanded and contracted, the gripper 12 formed so as to be capable of gripping or releasing a fuel assembly, and a lifter 22 performing the lifting operation of the gripper by the expansion and the contraction of a wire rope 23 suspending and supporting the gripper from the cross-travel carriage. The gripper can select a constriction state that it is constrained to the expansion pipe by a clamp fitting 31 of a clamp mechanism or a free suspension state that it is released from the constraint by the expansion pipe and suspended by the wire rope in a free state.
