PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chuck device for compressing a conductor segment. SOLUTION: This chuck device 1 has core metals 100, 110; chuck pawls 101, 111; and pressing members 102, 112. A straight line portion of a U-shape conductor segment 2 fitted and inserted into a slot of a stator core is inserted into a holding space 104 segmented by the core metals 100, 110 and the two chuck pawls 101, 111 by displacing the chuck pawls 101, 111, in a state that a plurality of the conductor segments 2 is stacked in double in radial directions of the core metals 100, 110, and the pressing members 102, 112 are displaced in the radial direction to compress the straight lines of the conductor segment 2 in the radial direction.
