PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video display device capable of easily acquiring information related to power consumption in a video display device and in one or more electrical apparatuses connected to the video display device. SOLUTION: The video display device is characterized by comprising: steps of acquiring self power consumption information related to power consumption in a television receiver X (video display device) and external power consumption information related to power consumption in a recording/reproduction apparatus Y (electrical apparatus) (S2 to S6); a step of generating whole power consumption information related to power consumption in the whole television receiver X and recording/reproduction apparatus Y (S9); and a step of displaying in the video display part (S10).
