PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile communication system, a base station apparatus, and a mobile radio terminal device which make the most use of infrastructure resources of an old system, have a great affinity with the old system, and are capable of utilizing a new system without deterioration of user's convenience in the old system. SOLUTION: The mobile communication system comprises: a base station CS1 capable of communicating in both a first communication system equivalent to the new system and a second communication system equivalent to the old system; a base station CS2 for communicating in the second communication system; and a mobile radio terminal device 100 capable of communicating in the first communication system and the second communication system. When the mobile radio terminal device 100 waits for an incoming call in the second communication system, and a flag is received through a control channel from the standby base station, the base station is recognized as the base station CS1 corresponding to the first communication system as well, and switched to the first communication system to wait for an incoming call.
