PROJECTION OPTICAL SYSTEM AND PROJECTOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection optical system capable of having a small configuration when light is greatly shifted relative to an optical axis and to provide a projector. SOLUTION: The projection optical system 10 for projecting light comprises: lenses LN which are optical elements disposed so that their optical axes AX substantially coincide; a reflecting section 13 by which light advancing toward and relative to the optical axis AX from a specific side is reflected to a specific side. The optical element and reflecting section 13 cause the light entering from the specific side relative to the optical axes AX to shift and advance to the specific side relative to the optical axes.
