PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of liquid crystal display panel capable of thinning a substrate assembly without bringing about the deterioration in yield and, thereby, capable of contributing to the thinning and the narrowing of frame in a liquid crystal display device, when obtaining a plurality of liquid crystal display panels having a small thickness of panel respectively from a panel assembly comprising a first substrate assembly and a second substrate assembly stuck to each other. SOLUTION: Scribe grooves 60 are formed along boundary lines between adjacent liquid crystal display panel regions respectively on a substrate surface on the opposite side to the second substrate assembly 30A in the first substrate assembly 20A and on a substrate surface on the opposite side to the first substrate assembly 20A in the second substrate assembly 30A, thereafter, a panel assembly 10A is etched, thereby, the substrate assemblies 20A, 30A are respectively thinned, at the same time, the scribe grooves 60 on the substrate assemblies 20A, 30A are allowed to respectively grow and the panel assembly 10A is divided into the plurality of liquid crystal panels 10.
