PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide toner that can prevent scratches on a photoreceptor surface even for such usage requiring response to fast operation and production stability more than conventional toners and that can stably give high picture quality for a long period of time without depending on the environment. SOLUTION: The toner comprises toner particles containing at least a binder resin and a colorant, and alumina fine power and is characterized in that: the alumina fine power has a total pore volume of 0.200 cm<SP>3</SP>/g or less of pores measured in a range from 1.7 nm to 300.0 nm pore diameters; and in the measurement of CuKαcharacteristic X-ray diffraction of the alumina fine power, a value Ic calculated by formula (1):Ic=Ib/(Ia+Ib) ranges from 0.20 to 1.00, wherein Ia represents the maximum intensity in a Bragg angle 2θfrom 25.0 to 26.0 degrees and Ib represents the maximum intensity in a Bragg angle range 2θfrom 32.0 to 33.0 degrees.
