PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a mixing device which prevents a material to be mixed from splashing outside a container by the swing of an agitator, enables excellent and swift agitation and mixing, and also is capable of providing it at a low cost. SOLUTION: The mixing device including a rotary table to be rotated in a horizontal face on a main body by a drive source, holding means for detachably attaching the outer bottom part of the container containing the material to be mixed on the rotary table, a swing shaft of swinging in a fixed angular range on the side of the main body by the drive source and a roughly inverse U-shaped agitator freely detached from and attached to the swing shaft at the other end part so as to position one end part in the container held on the rotary table. The mixing device in which the material to be mixed is agitated and mixed by a relative motion of rotation of the container by the rotary table and swing of the agitator comprises table rotation speed change means for changing the rotation speed of the rotary table and swing speed change means for changing the swing speed of the swing shaft.
