摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic brake and an electromagnetic clutch, which detects a wear condition before they reach a wear limit, without increasing costs. <P>SOLUTION: The electromagnetic brake 1 comprises: a hub plate 10 made of magnetic material and fixed to a shaft to be braked for rotation together; a magnetic pole 20 axially separated from and opposed to the hub plate 10; an armature 30 made of magnetic material, which is disposed between the hub plate 10 and the magnetic pole 20 and is attached to the magnetic pole 20 to be axially slidable and not to be rotatable; a friction plate 11 fixed to a surface of the hub plate 10 opposed to the armature 30; a pair of yokes 40, 41 for forming magnetic circuits passing through the armature 30 and the hub plate 10; a detection coil 42 wound around the yoke 41; and a wear detection circuit 43 for detecting the wear condition of the friction plate 11 based on a voltage value of the detection coil 42. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p>
