<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary machine drive system which can determine whether the connection state of winding in a rotary machine is switched, and a washing machine comprising the system and a winding switching result confirmation method for the rotary machine. <P>SOLUTION: In the rotary machine drive system, when the connection state of the stator winding 18 of a motor 15 is changed by relays 62 to 64 to switch the induced voltage constant of the winding 18, a control microcomputer 36 confirms that the connection state of the winding 18 is changed.
