PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a driving load of a driver, by conducting automatically switching between route guide processing and display processing of detail information, in response to a situation of the driving load of the driver. SOLUTION: This navigation system set automatically either of the route guide processing using a selected place name as a destination, or the display processing of the detail information as to the selected place name, in response to the situation of the driving load of the driver, when the place name displayed on a map is selected.
