PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for inducing exfoliation promotion and/or epidermis reclaim of the skin. SOLUTION: The invention relates to a cosmetic use of a composition containing anisic acid or its derivative in a physiologically permissible solvent for inducing exfoliation promotion and/or epidermis reclaim of the skin. The invention also relates to the cosmetic use of anisic acid or its derivative in the composition as a drug for inducing exfoliation promotion and/or epidermis reclaim of the skin. Anisic acid, its derivative or the composition containing thereof especially intends to improve skin color brightness and/or fineness of the skin, and/or to smooth skin roughness and/or to reduce age spots.
