DIAGNOSTIC TEST METHOD FOR ARTERIOSCLEROSIS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diagnostic test method for arteriosclerosis having higher sensitivity and higher specificity relative to a prior art diagnostic test method. SOLUTION: The diagnostic test method for arteriosclerosis is characterized by using an antigen epitope of an anti-HSP60 peptide antibody in particular that can be a marker to arteriosclerosis, among the amino acid sequences constituting HSP60. More specifically the diagnostic test method for arteriosclerosis is characterized by using a polypeptide having antigenicity to an anti-HSP60 antibody constituted of specific amino acid sequences. (1) A polypeptide containing 10 to 20 amino acid residue groups selected from the above amino acid sequences is claimed. (2) An amino acid sequence selected from the above amino acid sequences containing 10 to 20 amino acid residue groups with at least one amino acid thereof substituted or displaced therefrom or with at least one amino acid added thereto or inserted therein is claimed.
