METHOD FOR PRODUCING ORGANIC AROMATIC COMPOUNDS

The invention relates to organic chemistry, in particular to producing organic aromatic compounds and can be used in the chemical and food industries. The inventive method for producing organic aromatic compounds by oxidising toluene at diffusion conditions consists in oxidising toluene and in simultaneously supplying air, additional toluene and acetic anhydride, in simultaneously releasing and extracting a vapour-gas mixture and a liquid oxidate, which consists of a mixture of unoxidised toluene and the heavy and light product of the oxidation thereof, respectively, from a main reactor cavity to a vertical separation column, once oxidate is separated, in returning the toluene to the reactor cavity and in distilling and rectifying the mixture of the heavy and light toluene oxidation products which are taken from the top and lower part of said column. The rectification of the heavy and light toluene oxidation products is carried out in a step-by-step manner. The first and second steps consist in extracting toluene azeotrope together with acetic acid and acetic anhydride, respectively, at a normal pressure. The third rectification step consists in vacuuming and heating a remaining two-component mixture of benzaldehyde and benzyl alcohol acetate in such a way that said benzaldehyde and benzyl alcohol acetate are separated.
