A lifting device (1) has several step sections (2,2') which form an entrance stairway, in the usage position, into the vehicle. The step sections adjust into a non-use position under the central entrance of the vehicle and release a lift-platform (5) beneath the step sections (2,2') in the usage position. An independent claim is included for a vehicle with lifting device.
