The device of the invention can be used for connecting/disconnecting two members (1, 2) by the relative axial displacement of said members, wherein the two members (1, 2) can assume at the end of an assembly stroke an assembled position, and can realise an overstroke beyond said assembled position, one of said members (2) including a locking member that can be displaced between a free position and a locked position in which it interacts with the other member (1) for achieving said locking. The device includes means for actuating the locking member from said overstroke, so that a first overstroke results in the locking ember being switched from the free position to the locked position, and so that the following overstroke returns the locking member into the free position.
