<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molding apparatus and method of a honeycomb molded body, which enable an improvement of the quality and productivity, and the honeycomb molded body molded by the molding method. <P>SOLUTION: The molding method of the honeycomb molded body comprises a material manufacturing process of manufacturing a material block 10 consisting of a ceramic material, a material arranging process arranging the material block 10 in a cylinder 3 having an inner shape conforming with an outer shape of the material block 10, a molding process of arresting the material block 10 in a radial direction by the cylinder 3, at the same time, while gripping both end faces 101, 102 of the material block 10 with a pair of pistons 43, 53, allowing a plurality of pins 42, 52 having a shape corresponding to a cell to pass through through-holes 431, 531 provided respectively on the piston 43, 53 to insert from both end faces 101, 102 of the material block 10, and deforming the material block 10 by a pressing and advancing, and a molding finish process of shaping the cell in the material block 10 by pulling out the pins 42, 52 from the material block 10. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
