PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game machine capable of executing the presentation for enhancing a player's sense of expectancy for a jackpot. SOLUTION: In the game machine, a plurality of kinds of symbols are variably displayed in a plurality of symbol display areas based on the result of a lottery. The game machine comprises a stopped symbol determining part 4011 for determining a combination of symbols to be displayed in the respective symbol display areas according to the result of the lottery when the variable display is stopped; a variation area determining part 4012 for determining symbol variation areas including at least one symbol display area and determining the direction of variation of symbols in the symbol variation area; a variation area display part 4041 for indicating the symbol variation area and the direction of the variation; and a variable display control part 4042 for variably displaying symbols in the symbol variation area according to the direction of variation and stopping the variation of symbols so that the combination of symbols is the determined combination to be displayed when the variable display is stopped.
