PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high frequency signal receiving portion capable of smoothly switching between single reception and diversity reception in a short time. SOLUTION: A high frequency signal receiving portion 21 performs diversity controlling using tuner units 31 and 32. The tuner unit 31 includes a high-frequency amplifier 50 gain controlled by a gain control unit 50b and an amplifier 53 gain controlled by a gain control unit 53b. The tuner unit 32 includes a high-frequency amplifier 64 gain controlled by a gain control unit 64b and an amplifier 67 gain controlled by a gain control unit 67b. In addition, the high frequency signal receiving portion 21 comprises a receiving quality detector 33 connected to the output of the gain control units 50b and 53b or the gain control units 64b and 67b, and for detecting the receiving quality. The high frequency signal receiving portion 21 uses the detected signal outputted from the receiving quality detector 33 to select single reception or diversity reception.
