PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an armature capable of further prolonging the lifetime of a three-phase DC motor, and to provide the DC motor and an armature winding method for the DC motor. SOLUTION: The armature 3 of the DC motor in which number proportion of magnetic poles, slots and segments 14 is set at 4:5:20 is provided with a first coil 33, having a winding 12 wound forward and a second coil 34 having a winding 12 wound backward. In the armature 3, a commutator is provided with a connecting line 25 for short-circuiting the segments 14, having the same potential, and coils of -V phase, U phase, -Y phase, X phase, -W phase, V phase, -U phase, Y phase, -X phase and W phase are electrically connected, in this order in between neighboring segments 14, where the coils of U, V, W, X and Y phases are first coils 33 wound around each of the phases, and the coils of -U, -V, -W, -X and -Y phases are second coils 34 wound around each of the phases.
