DEFOAMING METHOD AND DEFOAMING CONTROL DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the adverse effect caused by an excessive charge of a defoaming agent or water sprinkling in the defoaming measure of an activated sludge tank. SOLUTION: A foam interface detector 13 for detecting the foam interface in the activated sludge tank 120 and a control device 14 for regulating the flow rate of a defoaming agent injection pump 12 on the basis of a foam interface detection signal from the foam interface detector 13 are provided. The injection amount of the foaming agent at the time of start of an aerobic process is started from the reference injection amount predetermined with respect to this cycle and subsequently increased and decreased corresponding to the foaming state of the activated sludge tank 120 and the defoaming agent injection speed in this cycle is compared with that in the previous cycle to determine the reference injection amount in a next cycle on the basis the comparison result. By this constitution, the injection of the defoaming agent can be properly kept and the adverse effect caused by excessive charging is prevented. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
