PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rice cooker capable of appropriately heating rice and retaining the moisture of the heated rice according to the use situation, and deliciously retaining the heat of the rice and reheating the rice. SOLUTION: Processes for increasing and reducing the pressure inside a pot 1 are executed by a steam loading means 16 and a pressure adjusting means 9 in a heat retaining step for retaining an object to be cooked at prescribed temperature or in a reheating step for reheating the object to be cooked. With this structure, deterioration of the rice can be inhibited by the appropriate heating and humidification and under the oxygen-reduced atmosphere, and therefore, the rice cooker with improved heat retaining capability and reheating capability can be provided.
